The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Best Movie of the Year 2002

The Two Towers is the second movie in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Directed by Peter Jackson. All three of these movies are without a doubt among the best movies ever made.

In The Two Towers the mission to save Middle Earth continues.

The hobbits Frodo and Sam continue their journey towards Mordor with the One Ring for destruction in the fires of Mount Doom, while the other members of the former fellowship fight Isengard and the wizard Saruman the White who allied with the Dark Lord Sauron.

The creature Gollum, who also wants the Ring, follows Frodo and Sam. Gollum is obsessed by the Ring, his precious. He was once a normal person, much like the hobbits, called Sméagol. He was corrupted and changed while he had the Ring in his possession and he lived an extremely long life. A small part of Sméagol still exists but the Gollum part of him is much stronger.

In The Two Towers we will also meet the mighty Treebeard of the ancient Forest of Fangorn and his people. Treebeard is the eldest of his species, the Ents.
